Robert Meals has joined Church Farm School as Director of Safety and Risk Management, and Allyson McHugh has joined as Executive Assistant to the Head of School.
Meals has worked in community safety his entire career as a volunteer firefighter, police officer, and security officer; notably, he has worked in independent schools for more than 30 years. Reporting to CFS’s Chief Financial Officer, Meals will work collaboratively with administrators, faculty, residential life staff, and the wellness and facilities teams to promote a culture of safety, accountability, and proactive risk awareness.
“Church Farm has a beautiful, expansive campus in an increasingly busy region,” he said. “I am eager to lend my decades of expertise to help the school continue to assess and bolster safety and security.”
McHugh replaces Julie Wickland, who is retiring at the end of January after 15 years as Assistant to the Head of School. McHugh will ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Head of School Office by providing administrative, organizational, and communication support to Head of School Dr. Troy Baker and Associate Head of School Tiffany Scott.
McHugh brings a wealth of independent-school experience and comes from The Phelps School. In addition to her strong executive assistant skills, she has extensive experience in development and advancement roles. She possesses a master’s degree in Counseling from Eastern University.
“Having worked in education for the past nine years, I’m delighted to be continuing my career at Church Farm School,” she said. “I look forward to meeting the community over the coming weeks and months!”
