Elkins Estate Expands with New Distillery and Event Space

The Elkins Estate in Elkins Park is adding a boutique event space and a distillery, expanding its offerings in Montgomery County.

The Elkins Estate in Elkins Park prepares to add a boutique event venue and a working distillery, according to Erin McCarthy for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The 42-acre estate, already home to the popular Elstowe Manor wedding venue, will debut the Chelten House this fall. The Tudor-style building will host more intimate gatherings of up to 100 people and include 16 guest rooms, offering a quieter counterpart to the estate’s grand ballroom events. The space is designed for smaller weddings, retreats, seminars, and business meetings.

By next summer, the estate will also welcome Morgan Stillhouse, a distillery opening in the property’s former stables. Managed by spirits writer and researcher Carlo DeVito, the operation plans to produce vodka, gin, and whiskey, with an on-site tasting room for visitors. The distillery will launch with Stork Club Vodka, reviving a brand tied to the famed New York nightclub.

The Elkins Estate is owned by hospitality group By Landmark. It has undergone extensive restoration since its $6.5 million purchase in 2019. Today, the property blends historic architecture with modern upgrades, creating a full weekend destination for guests.

With its expanded offerings, the estate aims to balance weddings, corporate events, and public programming while preserving one of Montgomery County’s most storied properties.
