Meet the Woman Powering barre3’s Growth in Blue Bell and Rosemont

Barre3 studio owner Emily Rothrock shares her journey from instructor to entrepreneur, leading thriving communities in Blue Bell and Rosemont.

For barre3 studio owner Emily Rothrock, movement has always been more than fitness. After 15 years in Philadelphia’s wellness world, she now leads two thriving barre3 communities in Blue Bell and Rosemont, blending her love of teaching with a drive that has shaped the studios’ steady growth.

Rothrock’s path began early, sparked by a group exercise class she took at age 14. After graduating from Penn State, she taught spin while balancing corporate marketing roles.  Eventually, she realized her passion lived inside the studio, not the office.

She discovered barre3 while another owner was recruiting founding instructors, and the brand’s women-led leadership and intensive training program quickly won her over. She opened barre3 Blue Bell in 2017 and returned to Rosemont as studio owner in 2024.

Today, she attributes her success to a strong team, from instructors and mentors to Play Lounge staff who bring barre3’s core value of authenticity to life each day.

Looking ahead, Rothrock is focused on continued growth, expanding her team and deepening the impact of barre3’s message of balance, strength, and community across Montco and the Main Line.
