Chat with Nick Schwartz for even a minute, and you’ll immediately notice a pattern — that the conversation always circles back to the same thing.
The families the Kind Human Foundation serves and the simple belief that clean water should never be out of reach.
Schwartz is the Director of Kind Human, a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing clean, safe drinking water to communities in some of the most underserved regions of the world. Founded by T.J. Foltz, the organization has grown from a grassroots act of compassion into a movement of generosity and global impact. Just this past month, members of the foundation returned from rural Uganda, where Kind Human has helped provide clean-water access to more than 250 communities — forever changing the lives of thousands of families.
“When you see kids drinking from a muddy hole in the ground — something that could very well take their lives — the mission becomes clear. It’ll ignite something in you,” said Schwartz. “There are 100 reasons why clean water is so critical. If it were just to quench thirst, that would be enough. But we know it lays the foundation for so much more: disease prevention, nutrition, proper sanitation, security, gender equality, even education. Pull one lever and change the trajectory of a life. That’s why we do it.”
But like many leaders of purpose-driven organizations, Schwartz found himself spending more time on bookkeeping and back-office management than on his mission.
“There are only so many hours in a day,” he said. “And too often, I found myself spending them scouring spreadsheets instead of expanding our reach or building relationships.”
That’s where MyOfficeOps came in.
A Partnership Built on Purpose
West Chester-based MyOfficeOps, an accounting and advisory firm focused on helping small and mid-sized organizations achieve financial clarity, stepped in to take the day-to-day financial load off Schwartz and his team. By managing the bookkeeping, financial reporting, and back-office functions, MyOfficeOps gave Kind Human something invaluable: more time to focus on growth and impact.
“Our goal is to give leaders like Nick back their time,” said Mark Mehok, Chief Revenue Officer at MyOfficeOps. “When you remove the burden of financial management from nonprofit founders, you allow them to focus on their mission. In this case, that means more clean water projects, more lives changed, and more hope where it’s needed most.”
This partnership represents more than just a business relationship; it’s a shared belief in the power of purpose-driven work. MyOfficeOps isn’t just helping Kind Human operate more efficiently; it has also committed to amplifying the organization’s message and contributing to its growth.
Making an Impact Together
The collaboration between Kind Human and MyOfficeOps is already making a noticeable difference. With greater operational clarity and a trusted financial partner, Schwartz can dedicate more of his energy to expanding programs and coordinating new projects.
That focus is especially important right now as the organization prepares for the upcoming ExtraGive on Friday, Nov. 21, Kind Human’s largest day of giving and a great opportunity for individuals and businesses to rally behind the nonprofit’s mission.
“We want to make this year’s ExtraGive our most impactful yet,” Schwartz said. “Every dollar raised translates directly into clean water, health, and long-term opportunity. And having MyOfficeOps by our side means we can approach this campaign with confidence, knowing the details behind the scenes are handled well.”
For MyOfficeOps, this collaboration reflects what it strives to achieve for all its clients — helping good people do great things by managing what’s behind the scenes, so visionaries can focus on what truly matters.
A Call to Action
As a Pennsylvania-founded and Pennsylvania-based nonprofit, Kind Human is grateful to share its mission with communities across the state.
On Nov. 21, the foundation invites everyone to join it during the ExtraGive, a 24-hour day of generosity. Donations made during the event go directly toward clean water projects that transform entire communities. And every gift is matched, one to one, doubling the impact.
“We’re all capable of being kind humans,” Schwartz said. “Sometimes that just means taking a small step, like giving what you can, to make a big difference in someone else’s life.”
