Karen Strid has moved her top-selling Main Line team from Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach to Compass, writes Ryan Mulligan for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The official switch was in October.
Based in Rosemont, the Karen Strid Team closed nearly $108 million in home sales last year, ranking third among midsize real estate teams across Pennsylvania. As part of the transition to Compass, Strid streamlined her group from eight agents to three licensed professionals.
Strid described her decision to leave Berkshire Hathaway as difficult, noting that it felt like “breaking up with someone you’re still in love with.”
She added that a smaller team will make it possible to deliver a luxury concierge service while freeing her to focus more on clients and less on management tasks.
Strid joined Berkshire Hathaway 11 years ago after a decade in information technology consulting. She noted that Compass’ fast growth motivated her decision to join the firm.
“I always loved working with the industry leader in any business I’ve ever been in,” she said. “I just felt like it was always easier to sell my brand connected with the fastest-growing, winning brand.”
