Ridge Hall Opens as Ambler’s New Piazza-Inspired Community Hub

Ridge Hall turns a historic Ambler factory into a food hall and event hub, aiming to unite the community year-round.

Ridge Hall opened its doors as Ambler’s newest community hub, writes Michael Klein for the Philadelphia Inquirer.

The $4.5 million project was designed to give the borough its own piazza. Developer Dan DeCastro transformed a 150-year-old former factory on South Ridge Avenue into a 14,000-square-foot space for food, events, and connection.

The first floor houses a food hall with 10 vendors, anchored by Manayunk’s Twisted Gingers Brewing Co. Upstairs features a yoga studio, roof deck, and flexible space for live music, sports-watch parties, weddings, and corporate events. This winter, Ridge Hall will also serve as the new home of the Ambler Farmers Market.

Food vendors showcase a mix of well-known and new concepts, including Lucky’s Roadside Stand, Pho Mi Please, Mary’s Chicken Strip Club, Pierogie Kitchen, Wanna Spoon? desserts, Char seafood, and Pennsylvania General Store. A single point-of-sale system will allow guests to order from multiple stalls on one check, simplifying the dining experience.

DeCastro insisted on preserving the historic character of the building, which has housed everything from a dairy to a candy factory.

“We’re going to pull people in, and then I want to see them leave those doors and explore our town,” DeCastro said.
