For individuals who are regular poker players, a new ranking of the best cities to live has been unveiled and Philadelphia is near the top, writes Paul Seaton for Legal U.S. Poker Sites.
According to the new rankings, Philadelphia is the second-best city for poker players to live.
The city trails only Las Vegas for the top spot.
A team of experts ranked the 50 most populated U.S. cities for the list based on nine factors, such as access to casinos and online play, taxes, housing costs, healthcare, and safety, among others.
On a scale of 100, Philadelphia scored a 56.26, second to Las Vegas’ 58.38.
“Philadelphia offers one of the strongest live poker environments in the country, with 263 poker tables and 2,170 annual tournament searches — the second highest in the top 10,” the experts write. “Combined with legal online poker and a low 3.07% income tax, it’s a well-rounded choice for players who want both access and flexibility in Pennsylvania.”
Philadelphia is also one of just three U.S. cities within the top 10 that offers online poker, along with Las Vegas and Detroit, respectively.
