The Fulton, Conshohocken’s newest Irish tavern, is already making a name for itself in the historic Connaughtown neighborhood, writes Ben Silver for Main Line Today.
Once home to the Old Mansion House, a decades-old watering hole, the building has been reimagined. Co-owners Evan Lambert and Robert Tredinnick transformed it into an upscale spot that pays homage to the community’s proud Irish heritage.
Connaughtown traces its roots back to 1906, when immigrants from Ireland’s Connaught Province arrived to work at the Alan Wood Steel Mills. While the neighborhood has grown more diverse, Irish pride still runs deep — and The Fulton reflects that history in both menu and design.
Executive chef and co-owner Ryan Patterson trained at Gulph Mills’ Savona and top New York kitchens. He crafted a lineup of classics, including corned beef and cabbage, bangers and mash, and his family’s recipe for Irish stew. Guinness tops the drink list, though Patterson’s Irish coffee is expected to shine this fall.
The space has been fully renovated, with stone, wood, and historic photos creating a welcoming yet contemporary vibe. Looking ahead, The Fulton will host live music, Sunday brunches, and even a “Split the G” Guinness challenge, with outdoor dining coming in 2026.
