Upper Salford’s Philadelphia Folk Fest Sets for Return with Star-Studded Lineup

The Philadelphia Folk Festival returns to Montgomery County Aug. 15–17, bringing music, tradition, and community to Old Pool Farm once again.

The Philadelphia Folk Festival is set to return for year 62 at Upper Salford’s Old Pool Farm, writes Justin Heinze for the Patch.

The event runs August 15-17 and will feature a full weekend of performances from folk legends and emerging acts.

Organizers have unveiled this year’s lineup, headlined by artists including Alejandro Escovedo, Cedric Watson et Bijou Creole, Eileen Ivers, The Gibson Brothers, and John Gorka

Additional acts include Tim O’Brien with Jan Fabricus, Solas, and Vanessa Collier.

More than 40 acts are slated to perform across multiple stages, celebrating the diverse sounds of the folk tradition.

Those camping on the grounds for the weekend can also enjoy a special Thursday night concert on August 14, with a lineup to be announced later.

For longtime attendees, the festival is about more than just music. “I have been coming to Fest since I was three months old,” said volunteer Julia Leinhauser. “My family has been involved for decades.”

With its rural charm, rich history, and strong sense of community, the Philadelphia Folk Festival remains a hallmark event of Montgomery County.
