
Montgomery County Community College (MCCC) invites applications for the following open positions: Director of the Hospitality Institute; Part-Time POWER Grant Coordinator (Temporary, Grant-Funded); and Director of Advising.
Director of the Hospitality Institute
The Director is responsible for overseeing the operations of the College’s Hospitality Institute (HI), which includes the Tourism & Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, and Baking & Pastry Programs. The Director will work closely with instructors, students, staff, and Advisory Boards of the HI to ensure the successful operation of the Institute and its programs.
The Director oversees administrators and faculty of the HI; administrators report to the Director; there is a shared relationship for faculty with the Dean and Director. Travel required to College campuses and for external activities.
*This position requires the candidate to obtain the PA Child Abuse, PA State Police, and FBI fingerprint clearances before their start date.
**This position has college-wide responsibilities and requires travel between all campuses and off-site locations. Location will mainly be at the Blue Bell campus.
Essential Education, Training, Skills, and Work Experience:
- Master’s in Business Administration, Culinary, Baking & Foodservice Management, Hospitality Management, or related discipline.
- At least five years of work experience in the culinary, hospitality, or related field.
- At least three years in a supervisory position.
- Experience operating, marketing, and managing a large-scale facility.
- Experience working with community and industry partners.
- Preference for those with at least three years of teaching experience; culinary; postsecondary teaching experience preferred.
- ServSafe Manager’s Certification preferred.
- Experience supervising others within a union environment preferred.
- Demonstrated administrative, problem-solving, team-building, entrepreneurial, and organizational skills.
- Proven skills in handling detailed tasks and multiple assignments.
- Strong culinary industry knowledge and an understanding and passion for the culinary industry.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to a comprehensive community college philosophy.
- Established interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated record of being able to work collaboratively with people in a service organization.
- Valid driver’s license and insured automobile required for travel.

Part-Time POWER Grant Coordinator (Temporary, Grant-Funded)
The Partnership on Work Enrichment and Readiness (POWER) Coordinator is responsible for coordinating POWER cohort activities during the fall and spring semesters, and for recruiting students throughout the academic year. POWER is a cohort-based, semester-long program that connects students in mental health and substance use disorder recovery to campus life, helping develop educational/career potential.
The Coordinator’s role includes supporting POWER students’ success in their POWER cohort and following their academic progress for four to six months after they have completed POWER. The Coordinator works with each student to develop a realistic educational plan based on their needs and educational ability. The Coordinator handles internal and external outreach for the POWER Program, connecting with agencies, schools, and other organizations to build awareness about the POWER Program and secure prospective participants. The Coordinator is supported by the POWER team and the Director in order to ensure the smooth running of the POWER program.
The POWER Coordinator will be expected to report to the Pottstown campus once weekly, but the primary office is at the Blue Bell campus. The position is fully grant-funded. These positions are contingent upon grant funding. The end date for the grant is
Jun. 30, 2026, with potential renewal for additional years.

**These positions are part-time, 25 hours per week, and college-wide. The primary location is the Blue Bell campus, but this person will be expected to report to the Pottstown campus once weekly. Must be available to work days, some evenings, and weekend hours for special events.

Essential Education, Training, Skills, and Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, or related fields, plus at least two to three years’ experience is required.
- A minimum of two years’ experience working with vulnerable populations.
- Demonstrated success in mentoring and/or coaching students, clients, etc.
- Practices compassion and empathy for those in substance use recovery and/or facing mental illness.
- Excellent communication and planning skills to encourage students to meet their goals.
- Ability to use online software to track students and enter notes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Background in Human Services, Counseling, and/or Student Advising is helpful.
- An understanding of, and sensitivity to, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of community college staff and students in general, and the POWER Program population in particular.

Director of Advising
The Director of Advising works in collaboration with the Dean of Students to support vision, philosophy, and delivery of innovative and integrated student support through academic advising services. The Director of Advising is responsible for the direct supervision of the academic advising and transfer services teams. The Director of Advising will work collaboratively and in conjunction with the Dean of Students, the Executive Director of Enrollment Management, the Coordinator of Advising, and other College leadership team members and colleagues to enhance enrollment management, retention, and onboarding of students through the academic advising process.
Additionally, the Director of Advising provides support and leadership for student success initiatives related to strategic planning, advising philosophy, retention, and staff training and development.

- Master’s degree in a related field required.
- Minimum of three to five years of administrative work experience required, preferably at a higher education institution.
- Supervisory and managerial experience working with unionized employees and work units preferred.
- Community college experience preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated success in planning and implementing special projects, including grants, and entrepreneurial opportunities preferred.
- Knowledge of current issues and trends in student development and student services
- Commitment to data-informed decision making.
- Passionate in presence about the importance of community college leadership.
- Possess strong personal qualities of honesty, integrity, enthusiasm, initiative, flexibility, and creativity.
- Demonstrates ability to cultivate and maintain positive relationships.
