Pennsburg’s Luke Lyle, a seven-year-old football player, had a special surprise for Super Bowl Champion Saquon Barkley, writes TaRhonda Thomas for 6abc Action News.
The young running back gifted Barkley with a custom-designed pair of sneakers he created just for the Eagles star.
Luke is a first grader and die-hard Saquon Barkley fan. He dreamed up the shoe design months in advance of attending Barkley’s football camp. With help from Meghan Burns of ‘With an H Shoe Customization Service‘, Luke turned his vision into reality.
The sneakers feature Barkley’s iconic hurdle move, an eagle on the toe, a nod to the Super Bowl, and inspirational messages on the laces. Luke’s mom vetoed the original ‘Chiefs Suck’ messaging.
Luke caught Barkley completely off guard with the surprise pair of size 14 shoes. Luke also made himself a matching pair, forever linking the two through their custom kicks. The shoes are the only two of their kind. Burns said they cannot be ordered.
