Summer is in full swing and Montco residents don’t have to go far for affordable family fun, writes Michele Haddon for Philly Burbs.
Whether you’re seeking animals, water play, creative experiences or old school mini golf, there’s something for everyone.
Families can head to Norristown to vist the Elmwood Park Zoo. The park is home to red pandas, zebras, and even giraffes. General admission starts at $23.95 for kids and $26.95 for adults. Kids under 2 are free.
Not far from the zoo is The Shop @ Crazy Aaron’s. There, kids can enjou a hands-on putty making experience. The ‘Mixed-by-Me’ mini tin is free, and prices vary.
In Montgomeryville, kids can cool off at the Montgomery Township Spray Park. It’s completely free to enjoy the sprinklers designed for kids of all ages.
Lansdale is home to Freddy’s Family Fun Center – until the end of the summer, when they close for good. Freddy’s has two mini golf courses, batting cages, and homemade ice cream.
