Ten-year-old Nicky Papa of South Philadelphia earned a spot in a global LEGO competition with a creation he built at LEGOLAND Discovery Center Philadelphia in Plymouth Meeting, reports Nick Iadonisi for 6abc.
The boy was recognized as a “mini master model builder” by LEGOLAND Discovery Center Philadelphia after an annual competition the center holds. With his newly minted title, Nicky collaborated with the center’s Master Model Builder to create a build that would be entered into a global competition.
“I love to build LEGOs,” said Nicky. “To make new creations that people haven’t seen before.”
The design of the LEGO creation was inspired by the stadiums of the Philadelphia Phillies and the Philadelphia Eagles, Nicky’s favorite sports teams. The whole creation took a long time to build, but the young master builder ended up being very satisfied with the end result.
After being displayed at the center, the Philly sports-themed creation will then make its way to Billund, Denmark, where it will be entered into a competition at LEGO House.
