Valley Forge Casino Betting on Big Makeover to Stay #1 in PA

Valley Forge Casino in King of Prussia is getting a major upgrade to keep its spot as PA’s top casino amid record growth and local expansion.

King of Prussia’s Valley Forge Casino Resort is betting big on its future, writes Jake Blumgart for the Philadelphia Inquirer.

The 13-year-old complex is undergoing a sweeping renovation led by its owner, Las Vegas-based Boyd Gaming Corp. New additions include a newly opened food hall, an upscale steakhouse and cigar lounge, a sleek tavern, and fully remodeled hotel suites.

Vice President and general manager, Martha Morales said the investment is crucial to remain competitive. “In April, we led the Pennsylvania market,” she said, pointing to the $99 million in revenue. This represented a 16% increase from the previous year.

When renovations finish, the resort’s workforce will grow from 650 to 700, which is notable considering Valley Forge is the only non-union casino in the state.

This is the property’s first major upgrade since 2016 and comes amid booming development in King of Prussia. With the ever-expanding mall just around the corner, Morales says Valley Forge Casino is ready to evolve alongside the region.

“It’s a whole reinvestment,” she said. “We want to not only improve our gaming experience but also give non-gamers a place where they can go and hang out.”
