Brandon Parish adds a new chapter to his family’s legacy with the opening of King of Prussia’s newest Jewish deli, the Kibitz Room, writes Michael Klein for the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Located just a mile from King of Prussia Mall, the new spot marks Brandon’s first solo venture—though he grew up in his father’s Cherry Hill deli. “I didn’t want to be at camp. I didn’t want to be in school. If I wasn’t on the lacrosse field, I wanted to be at the shop,” said Parish, who started out standing on milk crates to wash dishes for his dad.
The King of Prussia location seats over 200 guests and serves Jewish deli classics with flair: sky-high pastrami sandwiches, softball-sized matzo balls, knishes, brisket, and even in-house kishka and gribenes. There’s a retail deli in the back, a grab-and-go pastry case up front, and plans for tableside chopped liver and egg creams on the horizon.
With roots in Baltimore and Cherry Hill, the Parish family knows their deli traditions—but they’re not afraid to give them a modern twist. Open daily from 7 AM to 9 PM, Kibitz Room is one of the few local spots to offer breakfast, making it a welcome addition to Montco’s culinary scene.
