Immaculata University continues its support of local law enforcement by launching a new partnership with the Delaware County Fraternal Order of Police (FOP).
This partnership offers active and retired law enforcement officers and other first responders who are members of the Delaware County FOP significant tuition discounts on Immaculata in-person, online, and hybrid undergraduate and graduate programs. The partnership was formally announced in a signing ceremony on Immaculata’s campus on Mar. 7.
Members of the Delaware County FOP receive a 25 percent discount on the full standard tuition charged by Immaculata for most graduate coursework — including Immaculata’s fully online master of science in Criminal Justice program. Members also receive a discounted rate of $405 per credit for adult professional undergraduate courses. The University is also waiving application fees for FOP members.
“The 1,300 police officers of the Delaware County Fraternal Order of Police are excited and proud to partner with Immaculata University,” stated Christopher D. Eiserman, President of the Delaware County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 27. “We can’t thank the University enough for giving us this educational opportunity that will enable our members to further their education so that they may continue to serve the residents of Delaware County with the utmost professionalism. Our members strive to be the best that they can, and by furthering their education at Immaculata, this will ensure that we have the best and brightest police officers in the Commonwealth.”
To meet the evolving needs of law enforcement professionals, Joseph Sorgini, DPA, Assistant Professor of Criminology at Immaculata, updated the curriculum for the master’s in criminal justice program in 2024. Acknowledging the FOP’s commitment to officer emotional health, physical well-being, and leadership development, Sorgini incorporated four leadership courses into the program. These additions complement essential courses in ethics, criminal law, and cybersecurity, which continue to address key challenges in the field. Graduates of the program will earn both a master’s degree in criminal justice and a certificate in strategic leadership.
“We recognize the value law enforcement professionals provide to our communities, and we welcome this opportunity to provide a bridge to higher education opportunities for members for the Delaware County FOP,” said Kristi Ringen, Ed.D., MBA, Immaculata’s Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost. “Working together with first responders in our own backyard is a testament to Immaculata’s mission, and we look forward to serving Delaware County officers.”
Immaculata also offers tuition discounts to members for the Chester County FOP and to first responders in the City of Philadelphia.
