Lansdale’s Freddy Hill Farms, a beloved Montgomery County institution, will close at the end of its 2025 season, writes Robert Moran for the Philadelphia Inquirer. The farm-turned-family attraction has been a community staple for over 50 years, offering miniature golf, batting cages, and its renowned ice cream shop.
“After heartfelt consideration, we, the Seipt family, have decided to close Freddy Hill Farms and Freddy’s Family Fun Center at the end of the 2025 season,” the family stated on Friday. “It is a bittersweet reality that all good things must come to an end. Our family is deeply grateful for your support over the last 53 years.”
Fred Seipt, the family patriarch, launched Freddy Hill in 1972, blending his dairy expertise with his love of ice cream. Despite offers from developers, he chose to preserve the farm’s legacy, later expanding in 1991 with Freddy’s Family Fun Center.
News of the closing sparked an outpouring of emotions, with hundreds of social media comments mourning the loss of a cherished community space. Lansdale residents reminisced about childhood visits, softball training in the batting cages, and family outings for mini-golf and ice cream.
