Berwyn Native, Conestoga Grad Makes Forbes 30 Under 30 List
Berwyn native Jahnavi Rao has been named a 2025 Forbes 30 Under 30 recipient, writes Ryan Mulligan for Philadelphia Business Journal.
Now 24, Rao’s Forbes profile highlights her nonprofit organization, New Voters, which she started as a junior at Conestoga High School.
Each year, Forbes’ annual 30 Under 30 List highlights 600 founders, entrepreneurs, artists, and other public figures under the age of 30. Categories for awardees include social media, sports, music, and finance, with Rao’s work falling under social impact.
Rao developed New Voters as a club at her high school in 2018. The goal was to increase youth voter turnout and community engagement around voting. The organization ultimately registered over 85 percent of eligible students for the 2018 midterm election.
Later that year, New Voters became a nonprofit and expanded to dozens of schools in Pennsylvania.
A graduate of Harvard University, Rao’s work as Founder and President of New Voters is just beginning.
Today, the origination has engaged with students across 39 states, reaching over 300,000 students with their informational programming and voter registration drives, aiming to “empower the next generation of changemakers,” as per the nonprofit’s website.
