Truman Field Hockey Seniors Celebrate Their First-Ever High School Victory
The seniors on Harry S. Truman’s field hockey team managed to achieve something they had yearned for throughout their entire high school career: a win on the hockey field before they graduated, writes Melissa Hanejko for the Bucks County Courier Times.
In an exciting atmosphere, the team defeated their crosstown rival Bristol High School on September 30 in overtime, giving Alisha Knight, Lila Slivka, Amaris Morales, and Riley Lordan a well-earned sense of accomplishment after having stayed committed through thick and thin.
Prior to the latest victory, the Truman field hockey team had won their last game in 2019.
Emotions ran high after the game as some players shed tears as they celebrated the win. Assistant coach and former Truman player Samantha Domenic was among the most excited celebrants. Domenic was a freshman on the Tigers’ team in 2019, when they won five games in the season.
“Our coaches have made the biggest difference this season,” said Knight, who scored the game-winning goal. “There’s so much positive energy, and we can tell they really care about us — not just as field hockey players but as people.”
