Fred Goldring, a Wynnewood native and Lower Merion High School grad, has co-written a new Kamala Harris campaign song, writes Dan DeLuca for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The Forward (We’re Not Going Back) tune is credited to the Not So Silent Collective, which are Gregg Alexander and Danielle Brisebois of the New Radicals–the pop-rock band best known for their hit You Get What You Give–as its members. Jazz great Herbie Hancock and R&B singer Ne-Yo are also featured.

The song is an update of Forward, written by Goldring, the former chairman of Rock the Vote, along with Alexander and Brisebois for Barack Obama’s presidential campaign twelve years ago. At Joe Biden’s Inauguration in 2021, Goldring played guitar and sang backup vocals with the New Radicals.

Produced with John Shanks of Bon Jovi, Forward (We’re Not Going Back) features artwork by Shepard Fairey. The video for this song features Harris and Obama along along with actor Jeff Bridges and activist David Hogg.

The song was released by the Coda Campaign, which is also behind other videos in support of the Harris campaign that use songs by Billy Joel, R.E.M., Squirrel Nut Zippers, and Linda Ronstadt.
