Iron Hill Brewery's Phoenixville location has permanently shut its doors, yet the reasons for the closure are unsure.

Iron Hill Brewery, popular in Phoenixville for over a decade, has permanently closed, according to employees, writes Justin Heinze for Patch.

While it’s unclear what led to the closure, increasing competition and rising costs could have been a reason. This is not the only restaurant to close in Phoenixville recently, as PJ Ryan’s also shut down in August after 16 years.

The pair were seen as flagship bars and restaurants. They had a presence on Bridge Street before revitalization really took hold, but it’s unfortunate that they will not see the continuing flourish of the town.

While Iron Hill Brewery has multiple locations, including one in nearby West Chester, only the Phoenixville site is affected by this closure.

Located at 130 Bridge Street, Iron Hill sat across from Sedona and near other local spots like Soltane Cafe and The Boardroom.

The site’s prime location makes it likely that another bar or restaurant may eventually take its place, though no new tenant has been announced yet.
