Gazzos Steaks, which has a loyal following of local professional athletes, can likely add Jason Kelce when it opens in Haverford.

Gazzos Steaks hopes to open its new takeout location in the Ardmore section of Haverford Township within the next 90 days, writes Max Bennett for Patch.

The popular Pottstown cheesesteak shop is expanding into Delaware County with its location at 2528 Haverford Road in Ardmore.

Owners Joe Lewis and Mike Lamson are working with Haverford Township to meet necessary requirements and is installing kitchen equipment at the location.

“We weren’t planning to expand,” Lewis said. “But we saw the space and thought it was a nice opportunity.”

One likely Gazzos customer will be former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, who lives nearby with his family.

Lewis said they have developed a loyal group of customers that include local professional athletes and musicians, naming members of The Roots as one of its current high-profile customers.

Gazzos opened in Pottstown in 2022. The Haverford location will feature the same menu, which offers non-traditional cheesesteaks, along with roast pork, and chicken cutlet sandwiches that come with house-made provolone wiz and broccoli rabe.

“We’re coming out to bring quality food,” Lewis said of the Delco expansion. “Everything is done in-house, nothing is out of a bag.”
