Places like Freedom Village at Brandywine offer a place for retired seniors to enjoy life on their own terms.

Think about the places you like to visit or go, and chances are they all have a couple of things in common:

You feel welcomed, and you’re inspired by the people you meet.

Everyone likes places that have things they like to do and people they like to do things with. A blend of familiarity and just enough newness to keep it interesting.

That’s especially true when exploring new places to live.

If you’re looking at senior living communities, consider Freedom Village at Brandywine, a place where friendly neighbors are busy enjoying life on their own terms.

Here are some examples of the fun and interesting things the people of Freedom Village do every day.

Giving Back

Supporting a cause you feel passionate about is a great way to add meaning to your life, especially when you have a fun group to join you along the way.

It speaks volumes about the Freedom Village community that so many of the things that makes it such a great place to live are initiatives organized and led by the residents including:

Musical performances

Freedom Village at Brandywine’s Village Players — a group of resident actors — puts on musical comedies to raise money for the Freedom Village Scholarship Fund and the Freedom Village Outreach Fund. Residents volunteer to assist with everything from stage production to ushers and actors.

Season of giving

Throughout December, residents and associates committed themselves to a series of initiatives aimed at supporting The Chester County Food Bank, the Salvation Army in Coatesville, and donations to Reeceville Elementary School.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s

The world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research is held annually. During the Freedom Village third annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Friday, Oct. 4, 2024, it raised $3,700.

Where You Live is Important too

When you live in a place that’s surrounded by natural beauty and centuries of history, there’s always something fun to do. As residents of the Brandywine Valley, you’ll find plenty to explore in the great outdoors, from canoeing the local rivers to walking under orchid archways at the Longwood Gardens.

Nothing Left to It but To Do It

What do you want to do? Chances are there is a club, class, or activity you’ll be interested in along with a group of outgoing residents ready to do it with you.
