Montgomery County is preparing to welcome back the U.S. Youth Soccer Eastern Presidents Cup, one of the biggest sporting events it has ever held, writes Emma Dooling for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The event will return to the Proving Grounds in Conshohocken in June 2025, according to Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer CEO Chris Branscome.
The five-day youth sporting event will draw thousands of athletes to the county as well as between 7,000 to 7,500 attendees, including the players’ families, spectators, and referees.
Branscome addressed the Valley Forge Tourism and Convention Board. The Presidents Cup is “one of the most prestigious tournaments in the country,” he said.
Montgomery County first hosted the tournament last year. Around 120 teams attended with 2,500 players competing. The event resulted in 5,000 hotel room nights and an approximately $5 million economic impact.
Due to the success of the tournament, U.S. Soccer decided not to put out the 2025 event to bid and instead asked Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer to host it one more time.
The 2025 event is expected to again generate at least $5 million in economic impact.
