PECO has awarded more than $150,000 in grants to 19 cultural institutions and arts nonprofits in the Greater Philadelphia area through the PECO Powering the Arts program. The initiative aims to support vibrant arts and culture programs that benefit local neighborhoods.

This year’s grantees are on a mission to introduce the arts to new audiences and celebrate the region’s rich diversity and creativity:

These grants will fuel programs and events that harness the power of art to build connections, explore cultural identities, and share the unique stories of Philadelphia.

“Engagement with the arts enhances the human experience, celebrates our differences, and connects us all,” said Romona Riscoe Benson, PECO’s Director of Corporate and Community Impact. “For the past three years, PECO has proudly supported community-based arts organizations, ensuring that everyone in the communities we serve has access to the arts. We’ve provided these organizations with the resources needed to connect more people to opportunities — and to each other — in innovative ways.”

PECO Powering the Arts offers one-year grants of up to $10,000 to empower arts and non-arts groups to reach diverse audiences by breaking down participation barriers.
