Nucleus RadioPharma, a Minnesota-based radiopharmaceutical company, has chosen Lower Gwynedd as the strategic home of their new facility.

Minnesota-based Nucleus RadioPharma selects Lower Gwynedd for a new 48,000 square-foot facility, reports John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The radiopharmaceutical contract and manufacturing organization will move to a new facility at Spring House Innovation Park. The facility will consolidate research, development, and commercial production. The company expects the project to create 50 new jobs.

CEO Charles C. Conroy cited partnerships with Fox Chase Cancer Center and the site’s strategic location for domestic and international shipping as reasons for choosing Montgomery County.

Radiopharmaceuticals, used in diagnostic imaging and treatments for conditions like cancer, have short half-lives, making proximity to patients critical. The new plants will bring manufacturing within a four-hour drive of 60% of the U.S. population, reducing delivery times.

Fox Chase Cancer Center CEO Robert Uzzo said the new facility will provide faster access to life-saving treatments. Nucleus RadioPharma aims to improve treatment accessibility and accelerate drug development timelines.
