This Montco Place a Must-Visit Small Town in Pennsylvania
Ambler is the must-visit small town in Pennsylvania, according to a list recently published by Thrillist.
To compile the list of the must-see small towns for each state, Thrillist looked at places that are rich in comfort food, craft brews, music, artists, natural attractions, and quirky roadside stops, but also remain free from big city distractions and crowds.
Ambler’s Main Street boasts charming old brick buildings, plenty of pubs, boutiques, a dance company, a painting studio, and a popular playhouse.
The Ambler Theater, perfectly set in a Spanish Colonial-style building with a hidden roof gargoyle, often shows old movies and new independent films, such as Citizen Kane.
The eateries are amazing, including Forest & Main which converted an old house into a microbrewery. Meanwhile, at the Lucky Well, you can enjoy some of the best barbecue around.
There is also a delightful community of folks who never miss the summer farmers market and the summertime Ambler Arts & Music Festival. Another must-see event is the Dog Days of Summer, a giant dog parade.
And as an added bonus, you can learn about the town’s hilariously quirky history, which includes a train wreck and an asbestos empire.
