Wall Street Journal: The State’s Highest-Ranked College is Located in Philadelphia
The latest Wall Street Journal/College Pulse 2025 ranking is officially out now, ranking the top colleges in the nation, writes The Wall Street Journal.
Of the highest-ranking colleges in the state of Pennsylvania, the number one institution is located in Philadelphia.
That institution is the University of Pennsylvania, which ranked as the No. 13 college in the nation overall.
It is the highest-ranked out of four Pennsylvania universities that cracked the top 50, followed by Lehigh University (No. 15), Swarthmore College (No. 35), and St. Joseph’s University (No. 42).
Penn also ranked fourth among Ivy League schools.
The WSJ/College Pulse rankings is measured by how well each college sets up its graduates for future financial success. It looks at factors such as how much a school improves students’ chances of graduating and their future earnings, and balancing these outcomes with feedback from students on college life.
