Telford company, Fres-co recently partnered with the Pennridge School District to support teachers and students in their Tier 1 schools with much-needed supplies, writes The Reporter.
Donna Schmick of Fres-co contacted Pennridge’s Department of Communications and Community Relations in September after her company organized a school supplies drive.
Fres-co’s Employees Activity Committee spearheaded the effort, gathering donations from employees to benefit local elementary schools within the Pennridge School District. The drive yielded four boxes of supplies, which were distributed to Title 1 schools in the district. Guth, Grasse, and West Rockhill elementary schools received the supplies. Title 1 schools receive federal funding aimed at improving educational opportunities for underprivileged children.
To help manage the large donation, Pennridge’s PACE program assisted in sorting and boxing the supplies.
School principals expressed deep appreciation for Fres-co’s contributions. “We are very thankful for the donations from Fresco,” said Casi Plourde, principal of JM Grasse Elementary. “Our schoolwide goal this year is to implement W.I.N. Time (WHAT I NEED) for all students in kindergarten through 5th grade.”
West Rockhill, Mia Dipaolo commented, “It’s like Christmas morning here,” as teachers selected items for their classrooms.
