MCCC seeks Part-Time Workforce Development Information Technology Specialist and Part-Time Resource Coach.

Montgomery County Community College (MCCC) is seeking applications for the following positions: Part-Time Workforce Development Information Technology Specialist and Part-Time Resource Coach.

Part-Time Workforce Development Information Technology Specialist

The Part-time Workforce Development Information Technology Specialist is a grant-funded position. The Specialist will work with the Director of Workforce Development for Information Technology in helping to grow the various non-credit and workforce development courses as well as certificate training IT programs. They will assist with planning and coordinating the administrative phases of these programs, including the CISCO Academy Support and Instructor Training Center.

*This position will be based at the Blue Bell campus and will work 25 hours per week.

*This position is contingent upon grant funding with an expected end date of Aug. 31, 2025.

*This position has been approved for a flexible work option arrangement. Flexible work options can be ended at any time by the College, Cabinet, and/or supervisors based on employee performance and/or as institutional needs change.

Essential Education, Training, Skills, and Work Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least two years of work experience and at least one computer industry certification.
  • Knowledge of CISCO Networking Academy is required.
  • Experience in an academic environment in program management.
  • Current technical knowledge in programming, networking, web development, cloud computing, operating systems, databases, cyber security, etc. (preferred).
  • Demonstrated team and organizational skills.
  • Proven skills in handling detailed tasks and multiple assignments.
  • Established interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated record of being able to work well with people in a service organization.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with various types of individuals and companies.

Part-Time Resource Coach

The Part-Time Resource Coach is to build upon the work of the Student Wellness Inclusion Model. This position will engage with students daily; identify barriers to student retention and completion, both personal and academic, propose solutions, and help students access the appropriate campus and community resources to support student retention.

The Part-time Resource Coach is responsible for providing holistic case management services and intensive and targeted support in support of the MCCC’s efforts to increase student persistence, retention, and completion This position is responsible for promoting student wellness, using a coaching approach to assist students through in-person meetings, emails,
texts, phone calls, and video chats. This position will also facilitate informational sessions and workshops for students as well as faculty and staff about available college and community resources.

This role will help to facilitate peer support groups within the Wellness Center. The Part-time Resource Coach reduces barriers for students who are seeking and participating in services that promote their mental and physical wellness. This is a part-time, non-exempt 25-hour/week position. This is a College-wide position, working out of both the Blue Bell and Pottstown campuses, and must be available to work day and some evening and weekend hours when needed.

*This position requires the new hire to submit the child abuse clearance, the Pennsylvania State Police check, and FBI fingerprint results to Human Resources before their first day of employment.

Essential Education, Training, Skills, and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Public Health, Human Services, Psychology, or a related field is required.
  • At least two years of case management experience is required.
  • Strong youth engagement and positive youth development skills.
  • Proficient in using technology, including Microsoft Office applications and student information systems.
  • Experience working with data management tools.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with students, administration, faculty, and the community at large.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team; can function in a peer-to-peer learning environment.
  • Understanding of relevant regulatory issues including HIPAA and FERPA.
  • Highly motivated to help students succeed.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and tact in all interpersonal contacts, and to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to maintain composure under stressful conditions.
  • Ability to be optimistic, positive, and supportive in interactions with others.
  • Demonstrated commitment to work with diverse populations, such as underresourced groups and first-generation students.
