An at-home bubble hockey league in Bensalem gathers over a dozen local men for games filled with friendly competition and camaraderie, reports Bill Rohrer for FOX 29 Philadelphia.

Games take place at three hockey tables in the basement of John Gaffney’s home. Fourteen players battle for the top spot in the league.

“For two to three hours we can come here, we can hang out, we can play the game that we love,” said Gaffney.

Currently, Jimmy Schwartz is dominating the competition.

“I have been playing since I was about 18, 19 years old,” said Schwartz.

He has been playing the game for so long that other players in the league have started to pick up on his big moves.

“A lot of these guys, you play with them for so long,” said Schwartz. “They know your tendencies, they know what you like to do. Sometimes you have to change it up every single night or every single time you come here.”

Tom Spiegel recently picked up the game again after a 25-year-long layoff.

“You know, it’s almost like riding a bike,” he said. “It comes back to you.”
