Four Chesco Public High Schools Among Seven Top-Rated in Region

Four Chester County public high schools are among the top-rated public high schools.

Four Chester County public high schools are among the seven top-rated in the Main Line region, writes Gina Lizzo for the Main Line Today

Downingtown STEM Academy ranked first in the region and second in Pennsylvania. It is an International Baccalaureate World School, where students follow rigorous academic and personal standards. 

“Downingtown STEM students bring a strong math and analytical background and are willing to put in hours of studying and practice to reach their goals,” said Rick Koshgerian, of RK Test Prep

Conestoga High School came second in the region and fourth in the state. Last year, the school’s students scored above the national average on the SAT. Conestoga also led the state with 43 National Merit Semifinalists. 

Great Valley High School is fourth in the region and seventh in Pennsylvania. The school has been recognized by the United States Department of Education with an Excellence in Education award. 

Unionville High School placed sixth in the region and at No. 13 in the state. 

“Unionville students have high levels of focus and organization,” said Koshgerian.
