Two Montgomery County Public High Schools Among Seven Top-Rated in Main Line Region

Harriton High School in Bryn Mawr and Lower Merion High School in Ardmore are among the seven top-rated public high schools in the Main Line region.

Two Montgomery County public high schools are among the seven top-rated in the Main Line region, writes Gina Lizzo for the Main Line Today.

Harriton High School in Bryn Mawr ranked fifth in the region and tenth in Pennsylvania. The school has an enrollment of 1,261 and a student-teacher ratio of 11:1.

So far it has been recognized as a Blue Ribbon School by the United States Department of Education twice.

“The kids are smart and not afraid to do more than I ask of them,” said Steve Odabashian of Main Line Test Prep and Tutoring. “They keep me on my toes.”

Lower Merion High School in Ardmore ranked seventh in the region and at No. 14 in Pennsylvania. The school has an enrollment of 1,712 and a student-teacher ratio of 12:1.

Three Lower Merion students were selected to receive National Merit Scholarships, which are chosen from a pool of 15,000 finalists nationwide.

“Students are driven and eager to please,” said Odabashian. “They do what I ask, and it shows in the results.”
