Meridian Bank was the Wheeler Sponsor of the Devon Fall Classic, which spanned from Sept. 12-15. On Sept. 13, Marc Pelletier, SVP of Commercial Lending, had the honor of presenting the “Speed Stake” Award ($10,000) to the Feature Class champion in the Dixon Oval.

The Devon Fall Classic is a signature Main Line tradition and a premier national equestrian competition, with many community sponsors participating in the fun-filled weekend of events, including horse show classes; junior and adult jumping; Take2 Thoroughbred Jumping; a country fair featuring vendor booths, a wine gazebo, and rides and games. Music and entertainers throughout the four-day event included Rick’s Office Band, DJ Brian Kiley, DJ Brian Bohn, Just Add Water, a color guard presentation by Valley Forge Military Academy and sounding of the horn by Bob Dryer, and national anthem presentations by Singers Michael Krueger and Alison Rose-Lisik.

“Presenting the award to the ‘Speed Skate’ winner in the Dixon Oval was a true highlight for me,” stated Pelletier. “The energy and spirit of the competition reflect not only the excellence of the athletes but also the strong sense of community that the Devon Fall Classic fosters each year.”

Wayne Grafton, CEO of the Devon Horse Show, echoed this sentiment, stating, “The support from Meridian Bank highlights the importance of community partnerships in making events like this possible. It’s a joy to see our local businesses come together to celebrate our equestrian heritage.”

All proceeds from the event benefitted Bryn Mawr Hospital. Founded in 1893, Bryn Mawr Hospital is a top-rated institution in the Philadelphia metro area, recognized for its exceptional patient care. The hospital and its outpatient offices offer a wide range of services, including cancer care, orthopedics, cardiovascular, maternity, bariatric surgery, and plastic and reconstructive surgery.

Pelletier further emphasized the importance of sponsoring an event with such an impactful cause.
