Montgomery County Community College (MCCC) is seeking applications for several positions, including Baking & Pastry Arts Faculty (Part-time Applicant Pool), Culinary Arts Faculty (Part-time Applicant Pool), Director of Development – Major and Planned Giving, and First Year Experience Faculty (Part-time Applicant Pool).
Baking & Pastry Arts Faculty (Part-Time Applicant Pool)
The Baking & Pastry Arts Faculty position teaches assigned courses in a manner that facilitates student learning and mastery of course material. Part-time faculty are encouraged to participate in course and curriculum development, program and course assessment, student advisement, college service, and professional development. Teaching hours are during the day between 8:00 AM-6:00 PM, typically one day per week. This position requires the new hire to submit the Child Abuse Clearance, the PA State Police check, and FBI fingerprint results to Human Resources before their first day of employment.
Essential Education, Training, Skills, and Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree, or its equivalent, in appropriate discipline from an accredited institution is required. Master’s degree or terminal professional degree preferred.
- At least five years of industry experience required, with at least two years of industry management experience.
- Current ServSafe certification required.
- Current ACF membership and/or membership in another professional association tied to the area of instruction preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduates of all abilities. Community College teaching experience preferred.
- Exhibited evidence of continued professional growth and development.
- Demonstrated commitment to the use of innovative instructional techniques and technologies and use of course management systems.
- Demonstrated commitment to the use of a variety of teaching activities to address diverse learning styles.
- Demonstrated commitment to the incorporation of information literacy resources, technology, research, writing and culturally diverse perspectives into the curriculum.
- Knowledge of competency-based education preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to continual assessment of the teaching-learning process.
- Demonstrated commitment to work with diverse populations, such as underresourced groups and first-generation students.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to a comprehensive community college philosophy.

Culinary Arts Faculty (Part-Time Applicant Pool)
The Culinary Arts Faculty position teaches assigned courses in a manner that facilitates student learning and mastery of course material. Director of Development – Major and Planned Giving
The Director of Development – Major and Planned Giving is an integral part of a growing fundraising team. This position will identify, educate, cultivate, solicit, and steward major and planned gifts above $10,000 and will manage a growing portfolio of qualified prospects through personal meetings and events. The Director will assist in the planning and execution of campaigns. This position has college-wide responsibilities and requires travel between all campuses and offsite locations. Location will mainly be at the Blue Bell campus. This position has been approved for a flexible work option arrangement. Flexible work options can be ended at any time by the College, Cabinet, and/or supervisors based on employee
performance and/or as institutional needs change. This position requires a credit history check prior to starting on the first day.
Essential Education, Training, Skills, and Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
- A required minimum of five years of development experience with a demonstrated record of successful major and planned giving fundraising, preferably in higher education.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, exceptional attention to detail.
- Writing ability as well as excellent oral communications skills.
- Ability to work with sensitive information with complete confidentiality.
- Familiarity with mainstream donor management systems, preferably with Raiser’s Edge NXT.
- Proficient as a user of office productivity software, preferably MS Office Suite.
- Ability to work on several projects concurrently, meeting deadlines.
- Ability to develop relationships with donors/prospects and to work with volunteers.
- Ability to effectively partner with College staff and Community partners to build donor relationships and foster long-term philanthropic support.
- Ability to plan daily work and work independently to achieve monthly and yearly performance goals.
- Ability and flexibility to travel for donor meetings.
