Bucks County’s Joe Giglio loves to share his ideas – as unconventional as they might sound sometimes – as a sports radio host on WIP in Philadelphia, writes Joe Mason for the Asbury Park Press.
Growing up, Giglio always expected to be talking trades and how to build a team in the future, he just did not expect to be doing it exactly how it played out.
“I wanted to be a GM,” he said. “…I went to DeSales University and studied sports management because that’s what I wanted to do.”
Giglio took a radio class as an elective, and enjoyed doing it. His professor thought he was good at it and pushed him to give it a try. He took his advice, and a whole new world opened up for him.
Today, Giglio is talking sports and discussing trades, but doing it with fans instead of fellow GMs.
“No matter what, I get to talk about sports, I have the best job in the world,” he said. “The best fanbase in my opinion.”
