Nurses and techs at Eagleville Hospital agree to a new contract. Both sides agree that the negotiations were a great deal for all.

Nurses at Eagleville Hospital unanimously agreed to a new three-year contract with the hospital, writes Justin Heinze for the Patch. Both parties described the negotiation as highly productive.

The agreement, reached by 78 nurses and techs, includes a 5 to 15 percent pay raise, enhanced staffing guidelines, a health and safety committee to review incidents, additional weekend pay, and more training opportunities for techs. The contract was finalized two weeks before the previous one expired – a testament to the effort.

Kendra Barkasi, president of Eagleville Hospital Nurses and Techs United spoke highly of the collaborative negotiation. “We came together for an honest conversation on behalf of our patients,” she said. “We met in the middle with our patients and patient care foremost in all of our minds.” Barkasi is a nine-year veteran at the hospital.

Eagleville Hospital specializes in addiction treatment and has a long history of serving the local community. The new contract not only strengthens relationships between staff and management but also ensures improved care for patients through better staffing and increased training.
