Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board’s rare whiskey lottery offers spirit aficionados the chance to buy a $7,499.99 bottle of bourbon, writes Stephanie Farr for The Philadelphia Inquirer

State liquor license holders as well as residents 21 and over can enter the PLBC’s latest “Limited-Release Lottery” through 5 PM Friday.

The lottery includes 1,252 bottles of nine rare whiskeys that range in price from $54.99 for a Stagg Straight Bourbon Barrel Proof bottle to a whopping $7,499.99 for a bottle of Weller Millennium Straight Bourbon.

Other available spirits include Eagle Rare Double Eagle Very Rare Straight Bourbon 90 Proof, Woodford Reserve Baccarat Edition Straight Bourbon, and Mister Sam Tribute Whiskey, among others.

Entering a lottery does not offer participants the chance to win a free bottle, but provides an opportunity to buy one of a limited number of rare bottles PLBC has in its stock.

To enter the lottery, you need to have an active account with updated billing information with Fine Wine and Good Spirits, the PLCB’s retail arm.

However, while it is possible to enter more than one lottery, winners can only purchase one bottle per lottery.
