Saint Joseph’s University alumni Langston Galloway was a practice player for the US Olympic Basketball team, writes Mike Sielski for The Philadelphia Inquirer. Now, he hopes this experience will get him back into the NBA.

Galloway graduated from St. Joe’s in 2014 as the second all-time leading scorer for the Hawks as well as the all-time leading three-point shooter.

From there he signed, undrafted with the Knicks organization, called up from an affiliate team to the NBA in 2015. He spent his career in the NBA as a journeyman, playing for seven teams over seven years before migrating to the Italian League.

His professional career wasn’t remarkable. He averaged 8.1 points per game with a .397 Field Goal Percentage in over 450 games in the league. But Galloway isn’t done. Given the opportunity to volunteer for the Olympic practice squad, he leapt at the opportunity to play with the greats.

”… being a part of everything that’s going on, that’s an experience I can’t pass up,” Galloway said.

Now, that the team is in London, Galloway is back home in Louisiana.

”… once they win the gold … I’m going to feel like I won the gold,” he said.

Galloway hopes that his eagerness to play among the likes of Lebron and KD will show NBA general managers that he still has something to offer the League.
