MCCC seeks Building Maintenance Supervisor, Dean of Students, Coordinator of Enrollment Operations, and MLT Microbiology Lab Faculty.

Montgomery County Community College (MCCC) is seeking applications for Building Maintenance Supervisor (Blue Bell and Pottstown), Dean of Students, Coordinator of Enrollment Operations, and MLT Microbiology Lab Faculty (Part-time Applicant Pool).

Building Maintenance Supervisor (Blue Bell and Pottstown)

The Building Maintenance Supervisor of the Facilities Management Department is structured to maintain the building assets of the College and to keep the buildings to a level of standard condition identified as, APPA level four or higher.

Equipment failures are minimal and preventive maintenance is comprehensive. This role functions as a working supervisor.
This position has college-wide responsibilities that require travel between campuses and offsite locations. The primary office location is the Blue Bell campus. This position requires the PA Child AbusePA State Police, and FBI Fingerprint clearances prior to the start date and also requires a drug screening as part of the employment process.

Essential Education, Training, Skills, and Work Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required. Graduate of a post-secondary program in an appropriate mechanical field and/or a degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Four years of experience in commercial building maintenance work with at least two (2) years in a supervisory capacity, which included budgeting, planning, and scheduling of work is required. Must have demonstrated proficiency in painting, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC.
  • The preferred candidate will have a working knowledge of APPA standards and baselines for quality.
  • Certification in any trade organization, or nationally recognized engineering or maintenance body is preferred.
  • EPA Universal Certification for handling refrigerant is preferred.
  • Experience with building Energy Management Systems, Siemens preferred.
  • Takes an active role in perpetuating a commitment by the College to reducing our carbon footprint and keeping equipment and mechanical systems in exceptional shape, via a successfully planned and executed preventive
    maintenance program.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
  • Must be willing to travel between campuses as well as work nights, weekends, and holidays based on college as needed.

Dean of Students

The Dean of Students designs, leads, and regularly assesses the holistic student experience for all students. The Dean of Students works in collaboration with the Associate Vice President of Student Services, the Executive Director of Enrollment Services, the Director of Advising, and with College colleagues across all units to deliver innovative and integrated student success and support experiences.

The Dean of Students leads College-wide retention initiatives for all students and delivers student engagement experiences aligned with the College’s Strategic Enrollment Plan. This position has College-wide responsibilities and requires travel to multiple locations, evening, and weekend responsibilities, and provides holistic vision, leadership, and oversight for Athletics, Student Life, Wellness Services, Veteran Services, and Judicial Affairs.

This position has college-wide responsibilities and requires travel between all campuses and off-site locations. The primary office location will be the Blue Bell campus. This position requires the PA Child Abuse, PA State Police, and FBI Fingerprinting clearances prior to the first day.

Essential Education, Training, Skills, and Work Experience:

  • Master’s degree in higher education or related field required.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in higher education within student services and/or student enrollment services field in a post-secondary institution or related area, including supervision of professional staff and budget experience, preferably in a community college setting.
  • Demonstrated experience and commitment to leadership development as well as managing and developing all levels of personnel in a complex, dynamic, and fast-paced higher education environment. Demonstrated leadership skills and a commitment to collaboration. Demonstrated experience managing and leading a team through change.
  • Understanding of and passion for the community college philosophy and mission.
  • Extensive experience in a student services environment, and a strong commitment to customer service with students, colleagues, and community partners. A commitment to innovation and student satisfaction in delivering services.
  • Appreciation for and demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality related to student information.
  • Demonstrated experience in collecting, analyzing, and reporting statistical data to inform decision-making and organize presentations to individuals and groups.
  • Experience in supporting grants, reporting, and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of comprehensive student databases and proficiency with and in using technology, including Microsoft Office applications, student information systems, CRM, and email, as well as familiarity with federal, state, and intuitional aid programs and regulations
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and critical thinking skills. Demonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Coordinator of Enrollment Operations

The Coordinator of Enrollment Operations is primarily responsible for oversight of processing handled by the Enrollment Processing Center. This position has responsibility for assisting other Enrollment Service staff as needed to ensure College
standards are satisfied. Create a work environment that strives for continuous improvement and staff involvement. This position includes evening administrative coverage responsibilities for the Enrollment Services Area and reports to the Associate Director of Student Services. Saturdays and evenings are required.

  • 2 years of call center experience is preferred.
  • Understanding of community college philosophy, practice, and population.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; highly organized.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with records/registration systems (Colleague preferred).
  • Customer service experience.

MLT Microbiology Lab Faculty (Part-time Applicant Pool)

The MLT Microbiology Lab Faculty (Part-time Applicant Pool) teaches assigned courses in a manner that facilitates student learning and mastery of course material. Part-time faculty are encouraged to participate in course and curriculum development, program and course assessment, student advisement, college service, and professional development.

This position requires the PA Child Abuse, PA State Police, and FBI Fingerprint clearances prior to their start date.

Essential Education, Training, Skills, and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree or higher in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science required.
  • American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Certification with recent clinical microbiology work experience is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduates of all abilities. Teaching experience, especially at a community college, is preferred.
  • Exhibited evidence of continued professional growth and development.
