2 From Montgomery County Named to List of Pennsylvania’s Most Influential Millennials
Two millennials tied to Montgomery County were named to this year’s list of City & State Pennsylvania’s 40 Under 40, writes Hilary Danailova for City & State Pennsylvania.
J.J. Abbott is a Narberth native who is executive director of Commonwealth Communications.
By age 30, he was press secretary under former Gov. Tom Wolf.
He went on to launch Commonwealth Communications, a progressive, center-left nonprofit that creates partnerships, organizing political power around Democratic causes.
“I love working with people on the frontlines of trying to make their communities better,” says Abbott. “They’re not just doing political work; they’re making a social impact.”
Jenna Meehan is chief of staff at Montgomery County Community College. The Delaware County native is a first-generation college graduate, earning a Ph.D in educational leadership.
She has devoted her career to helping students thrive.
“I love the behind-the-scenes aspect – helping drive the success, rather than being in the classroom,” explains Meehan.
As Montgomery County Community College chief of staff, the 38-year-old she has been responsible for policy and compliance and helps update procedures like the student code of conduct.
She’s also started a campus food pantry and supervises the Montco Cultural Center.
