‘The American Revolution’ Will Return to Philadelphia this Weekend

Theater Unspeakable and Let's Make History Productions will perform "The American Revolution" in Philadelphia this summer.

Theater Unspeakable and Let’s Make History Productions will bring back the critically acclaimed theater show The American Revolution to Philadelphia on May 18 and Jun. 1 at the King of Prussia Town Center (155 Village Drive, King of Prussia).

The show is free, and performances are at 2:00 and 6:00 PM on May 18 and at 2:00 PM on Jun. 1. A workshop will follow the performance on Jun. 1.

The show first debuted to Philadelphia audiences in 2017 during a run at the Arden Theatre CompanyThe American Revolution provides a family-friendly retelling of the country’s founding, combining tongue-in-cheek humor with imaginative physical theater in under 60 minutes.

The show features seven actors skilled in physical comedy and a unique stage production to offer a comprehensive never-before-seen historical experience and the retelling of a big story in a small space. Actors use their bodies and voices and pantomime theatre to recreate the American fight for independence from Lexington to Yorktown, while two feet off the ground on a narrow three-by-seven-foot stage.

These shows are fun, kid-friendly, and a great experience for the entire family. Events like The American Revolution show continue to help us showcase Montgomery County as an arts destination.”

The show tells a big story of America’s founding in a small space, which really opens up people’s imaginations,” said Director Marc Frost. “We are honored to get the chance to perform where it all started and to be a part of this really special community at KOP Town Center with so many great dining options.”

The American Revolution is directed by Frost and features local actors Kiersten M. Adams, Jordan Eck, Mitchell Nease, Connor Hogan, Alyse James, Brooke Shilling, and Craig Storrod. In addition to constructing The American Revolution in Philadelphia, Frost consistently dedicates his cast roster to the native talent of the area.

Based in Chicago, Theater Unspeakable (TU) is a touring theater company that creates original shows based on well-known topics. Every year, the company tours its shows to hundreds and thousands of young people and families around the country. Tours have included Lincoln Center Education (NY), John F.
