Philadelphia firefighter and veteran Eric Allen has developed an innovative tool called the FAST Board based to aid first responders in emergency situations, writes Nick Iadonisi for 6 ABC.
Bridgeport-based FAST Board is designed to efficiently and safely evacuate firefighters and citizens from hazardous environments.
“The idea originated in Philadelphia after we lost several firefighters in basement fires,” explained Allen.
“I wanted to create something to improve efficiency as much as possible.”
The FAST Board is now used by over 3,000 fire departments across the United States.
“I’m just really happy and proud to be doing this and to continue pushing it out there, making our first responders and hopefully civilians that much safer,,” said Allen.
