Secrets of Quakertown: Inside the Hidden Rosicrucian Pyramids
Believe it or not— there are pyramids in Bucks County, but not for public viewing. Known as the Rosicrucian pyramids, these structures sit in a meditation garden in Quakertown on private property, according to a report from Atlas Obscura.
The Fraternita Rosae Crucis, a secret society found by a doctor and occultist in 1858, owns the land where the pyramids sit. This organization follows the philosophy of Rosicrucianism, a movement that has roots in Germany made up of mystic philosophers and doctors.
Decked out in Rosicrucian symbolism, such as a winged world and a pyramid with a floating eye, the pyramids are organized by size.
While the Rosicrucians hold little power, and their gatherings are usually mere networking opportunities they still participate in secret rituals dating back to the 1600s and 1700s.
Locals allege that during the summer solstice, the organization performs a ritual in ceremonial robes around the pyramids.
The property is surrounded by “no trespassing signs” but some passersby can get a good glimpse of the pyramids from the street.
