Peter Drucker said that “the best way to predict the future is to create it.” Your goal is to challenge yourself to think deeply, to look at your belief system through a different lens, encourage yourself to dream greatly, and, ultimately, to inspire yourself to act immediately.

All significant change begins with changing the way you think. You cannot outperform your belief system. Personal leadership is about you leading yourself. It is about being deliberate and intentional about creating the future you choose. If you are not getting the results you want, you need to suspend your current belief system and incorporate the principles of personal leadership into your life and career.

Warren Buffett said that “the chains of habit are too light to be felt until they are too heavy to be broken.”

I have to say that there is a distinction between positive and negative habits, but I stand by the meaning of this message: the chains you put around yourself now have enormous consequences as you go through life. You can break those chains by focusing your mental concentration on your intention, your purpose.

No matter where you start, you can improve your leadership ability. Boxing is a good example of the importance of daily preparation. Champions don’t become champions in the ring, they are merely recognized there. Success is a way of life, not necessarily a list of achievements.

If you don’t make an effort to grow, to change, to achieve your goals, you will fall into negative thinking and behavior patterns of staying the same. Your self-limiting beliefs and faulty thinking will continue to produce the same old results in your life.
