Jennifer Lame is riding the wind these days.

A 2000 graduate of Episcopal Academy in Newtown Square, she has been nominated for an Oscar for Best Film Editing for her work on last year’s biggest film, “Oppenheimer.”

Lame worked with director Christopher Nolan on the film that tells the story of J. Robert Oppenheimer, a theoretical physicist who headed up the Los Alamos Laboratory during the Manhattan Project and is credited with developing the atomic bomb.

In addition to her Academy nomination, Lame won a BAFTA award in February for her work on the film, writes Caroline Goggin for 6abc.

“Jennifer is one of our illustrious alumni, and we are so proud of her,” said Angelique Israel, director of alumni relations at Episcopal. 

Lame has stayed in touch with the school and was unanimously confirmed last year as the winner of the school’s 2023 Alumni Award for Achievement in the Arts. 

Unable to attend the ceremony because of her work on “Oppenheimer,” Lame sent a video sharing her memories of being at the school.

“It’s been so fun to think back on my time at Episcopal,” she said in the video.
