Grace McDonough, a basketball player for Lansdale Catholic, recently got a chance to experience what it is like to play in the Philadelphia Catholic League, writes Melissa Hanejko for Bucks County Courier Times via PhillyBurbs.

“The competition in the PCL is so intense,” she said. “The student sections are so huge, and they bring so much energy.”

McDonough had just transferred from public school in the fall and has been experiencing a lot of new adjustments with a heavier course load and new teammates.

Junior Nadia Yemola who she already knew from the Runnin Rebels AAU, however, helped her get to know all of the other basketball players.

“Now, my closest friends are all on the team,” she said.

On the basketball court, she quickly put on a stellar performance. In her first game with the Crusaders, she racked up 17 points, 4 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocks.

That momentum kept up all season long. At just one game against Conwell-Egan, she had a season-high 18 rebounds and she finished the season with 29 points and 14 rebounds in a win over Neumann-Goretti.

She also showed impressive moves during the Catholic League playoffs although the Crusaders lost to Archbishop Carroll.
