Sylvester Stallone is returning to Philadelphia this summer to film a new movie, called "The Epiphany."

Sylvester Stallone has become synonymous with the city of Philadelphia since filming the first Rocky film in 1976.

After filming numerous additional sequels in the city in the decades that followed, Stallone will be returning to Philly in the next few months to film a new non-Rocky or Creed-related movie, writes Victor Fiorillo for Philadelphia Magazine.

The new movie is called The Epiphany.

The movie sees Stallone playing the role of a retiring police detective who has to work with a wet-behind-the-ears police detective and former priest to catch a serial killer who is wreaking havoc throughout Philadelphia.

The serial killer’s victims are all tied to a currently unspecified local scandal surrounding the Catholic Church, giving Catholicism a prominent role throughout the movie’s plot.

In addition to starring in the film, Stallone is also producing it.

According to Deadline, filming is scheduled to begin this summer.
