These 2024 Diversity In Business Award Winners Have Ties to Montco

William Bowie as president and CEO of Empower Construction prioritizes not only safety, but diversity, equity, and inclusion in his company.

The Philadelphia Business Journal has released its 2024 Diversity In Business Award recipients, and a few of them have ties to Montgomery County, writes Lida Dukart for the journal.

Companies continue to make diversity, equity, and inclusion priorities, and to recognize those efforts, the Philadelphia Business Journal each year honors those leaders who are making the biggest impact in our communities.

Here are a few of this year’s recipients.

William Bowie is president and CEO of Empower Construction in Fort Washington. His company manages projects for utility companies like PECO and Atlantic City Electric.

Bowie prioritizes not only safety, but diversity, equity, and inclusion in his company, and he volunteers with groups that help underserved populations.

As CEO and lead clinician at Mango Tree Counseling and Consulting, Noel Ramirez specializes in providing mental health care to people who identify as indigenous, people of color, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. He especially works closely with the Asian-American and Pacific Islander community (AAPI).

He has created a clinician internship program for AAPI students at the University of Pennsylvania, Thomas Jefferson University, Bryn Mawr College, and Holy Family University.
