When it comes to the most affluent neighborhoods in the Greater Philadelphia area, Montgomery County is where most of the money is at, writes Todd Romero for Philadelphia Business Journal.

Using U.S. Census Bureau data, the Philadelphia Business Journal calculated where Greater Philadelphia’s richest residents live.

Based on factors such as household income, age, and marital status, Montgomery County has seven of the 25 wealthiest ZIP Codes. And three of them are in the top five.

The top two — ZIP code 19035 in Gladwyne and ZIP code 19085 in Villanova — have an average household income almost double the average of the rest of the list.

Residents living in ZIP code 19035 have an average household income slightly above $450,000. In ZIP code 19085, the average income is just below $450,000.

ZIP code 19066 in Merion Station came in third with an average household income of just a little less than $300,00.

The median age in the wealthiest neighborhoods is more than 45 years old. The residents are more likely to be married and to have a spouse as head of household. About 74% of the residents have a bachelor’s degree and almost 40% have a professional degree.
